But here the story is about something else: a terrible experiment leads an unlucky soldier to the Backrooms, where he has to go through several levels, meet dangerous creatures and try to get back.

Explore, hide, listen to every suspicious sound, especially footsteps.... The most important thing is to survive.

KARJALA is an indie horror film set in the world of Soviet Backrooms. The game is based on a popular Internet creepypasta about an unusual place, where a person falls into a trap and is lost for days, months and years. All this is flavored with the atmosphere of Karelian forests and Soviet aesthetics.

While exploring this eerie and mysterious place, you will get acquainted with the history of the development of “Behind the Scenes” by the Soviet military and solve several puzzles. On the way you may meet dangerous creatures that you need to avoid at all costs.

KARJALA takes you into a tense and frightening environment where the emphasis is on exploration, puzzle solving and survival. This game will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish as you try to find your way out of this dark and supernatural place.

KARJALA has several levels of Backrooms, each with its own unique features and challenges. At each of these levels you can encounter different entities, they are hostile and dangerous. Meeting any of them can be a frightening, death-defying experience.
